…And for your reading and viewing pleasure today enjoy the guest blog shared by CJ’s Off the Square.

First of all, hello Wedding 101 readers! I’m sure you’ve enjoyed your experience with the fabulous ladies of Wedding 101 as much as we have, and we wanted to share some eye candy with you that we were excited to do for one of their clients.

Tiffany and Jimmy decided to hold a very intimate ceremony and reception for their very closest friends and family and were looking for an elegant setting for a private dinner in the heart of winter. We were delighted when Wedding 101 sent Tiffany our way! She had secured Skinner Chapel at Scarritt Bennett for their afternoon ceremony, and chose to host her formal dinner under the sparkling chandelier in our Gallery’s dining room.

The bride wanted a sparkling and elegant reception that fit the early 20th century design of our Gallery, and she chose a champagne and aged gold color scheme with accents of cream and light green. All of this set beautifully against the dark hardwoods and the vintage fireplace. Every piece we chose had to have a bit of sparkle to it, from the gold chivari chairs to the gorgeous Belmont chargers, all found in the showroom of Southern Events (www.southerneventsonline.com).

Caprice Palmer of The Enchanted Florist (www.enchantedfloristtn.com) suggested green cymbidium orchids in tight clusters and at each place setting, and placing a large mirror running the length of the table just to enhance the sparkle from the candles. We placed antique taper candelabras in amongst the flowers, and then accented with tealights and votives to create a long line of candlelight.

Knowing that we had six small children also attending, we designed a separate table across the hall for the kids. The centerpiece was a moss covered foam box with eye popping candies and lollipops, and each child got their own play pack, filled with bubbles, crayons, stickers, and their own coloring book. We also put together a game basket with lots of fun activities like Silly Putty and Wooly Willy.

For the menu, Tiffany worked with Judi Davis of A Catered Affair (www.acateredaffair.net) to create a scrumptious three course meal for the adults and kid-friendly meal for our younger guests. The adults dined on Butternut Squash Soup and a Sea Bass Salad, followed by a main course of Rib Eye and Pecan Encrusted Chicken with swirled mashed potatoes (sweet and standard), brown buttered green beans, and artisan breads.  The kids had a “PB& J” salad followed by chicken tenders, buttered corn and mac ‘n’ cheese before their custom made pudding cups!

The Sour Cream Almond cake with a Raspberry filling was made by The Bake Shoppe (www.thebakeshoppe.com) and the silver dragees were a nod to the border of the beautiful Belmont chargers. Slices were served with hot spiced tea and coffee.

Many thanks to Tiffany and Jimmy’s photography, Ashlea Terhune (www.terhunephotography.com) for sharing her photos with us, as well as our friend Jonathon Campbell (www.jonathoncampbell.com) who kindly stopped by earlier in the day to do a quick details shoot for us!

Happy Planning!
